Chapter 24 |
Hello, and welcome to my JOJOLANDS Reviews! This is my first one, so sorry if its a bit wonky. I've never written anything like this before! But it sounded fun :3 To start off, I really like this pose, like what did you get in trouble for Dragona?? She really is so precious haha |
So chapter 24 continues off with Dragona, Jodio, and Charming Man (disguised as Yokohama) making negotiations with Howler in his yacht. In his fit of paranoia, Howler attempts to shoot Jodio for whispering with Dragona, but ends up just shooting the yacht itself (remember this for later) |
In an attempt to sus out the Lava Rock, he throws all of the money (that was causing the Lava Rock to deteriorate due to the sheer amount of money involved) and begins telling people to bury themselves in the cash |
Dragona does it against her will, sweating bullets as Howler forcefully throws her into the money. Thankfully, Jodio was one step ahead. When he was whispering with his sister, he told her to use Smooth Operators on the money to alter them just slightly to be fake. |
If the money is altered to be fake, then the Lava Rock wont deteriorate since they’re rendered to be useless scraps of paper (Until Dragona reverts them back, at least) Howler begins to freak out, losing his mind by not knowing whats going on. Just then, Key West, Howlers assistant, informs the group that Fireboats and Police boats have began approaching the Yacht. As it turns out, Howlers reckless shooting into the yacht caused a fire to start, and the boats have come in to check on the yacht. |
Charming Man (still disguised as Yokohama) presses Howler, using the fireboats & police boats to his advantage. Saying that once they board the yacht because of the fire, they’ll be coming after Howler, and take the land that the government said they’d seize in 72 hours. |
We cut from that to focus in on Paco and Usagi, who are at the school in search of the Principal, Meryl Mei Qi. We learn a bit more about Pacos backstory, his abusive dad who he loves, and the lengths he’d go to keep him free after being falsely charged with murder. |
They get to her office, just to hear that they JUST missed her by one of the school staff. When they investigate, they learn that there was a struggle, and that she might not have left willingly. |
And thats where this chapter ends! Will Meryl Mei be alright? Will Howler sign over the rights to the land? We’ll have to wait and find out next month! However, Paco isnt taking the Meryl Mei situation very lightly. |
Had a lot of fun with this chapter! The past few chapters felt more like setup, getting the gears turning to lead up to BOTH reveals (those being the government boarding the yacht, and Usagi & Paco learning about Meryl Meis abduction), so it’s nice to see some real conflict. It also gave some good backstory for Paco, a character I didn’t really feel much connection to until learning more about his past. I had also been on the fence about Meryl Mei, feeling like she had ulterior motives, but seeing what she offered Paco in his time of need, I respect her a bit more now. |
This part just keeps getting better and better, I cant wait to see what happens next month with all these story threads! Until next time... |
